- Preparing Your Signature by Taking a Photo with a Smartphone
- On white paper, write your signature with black ink and take a clear picture of it with your smartphone
- Open your email from your phone, and email it to yourself by clicking the upload button. Learn how to attach a photo to an email here.
- Save this image to your desktop for an easy drag-and-drop option during your signing
- Preparing Your Signature Using Your Notes App or Paint App
- On your smartphone or tablet, use your or notes app (iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel) or paint-like app to draw your signature
- Take a screenshot of the signature (here’s how to screenshot using your iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel device)
- Email the image to yourself using the ‘Share function’ for your image. Learn how to attach a photo to an email here.

NOTE: Be sure your signature is saved to the device you plan to use for your notary appointment. In addition remember where you have saved the signature file and ensure you know how to retrieve it before your appointment.
-
Have your physical Photo ID ready to show on camera to proceed with the identification process.
- You will be asked to show the same ID you uploaded to prove your identity during your meeting.
-
Ensure your camera and microphone work on your device.
- The service provider will need to see you on camera and will need to witness your oath/agreement to your document being signed.
