The quick answer is Yes! Throughout Canada, notaries and commissioners of oath are allowed to notarize or commission documents that are not in English. However, the notary will require the following:
- The document will need to be the original and unsigned and undated
- That you have a valid government issued ID
- That you sign in front of a notary public, either via in-person or remotely
- And if requested and optional, the notary certificate will need to be in English.
